Tammy Awards

Almost as thrilling as finally getting free of the damned holding cell at the Company, I find myself nominated for some Tammy awards. I'd like to thank those who nominated me, and hope that maybe some 'dreams' can come true... *leer*

Nominations
Mature Hottie
My Dream Orgy Cast (now come on, tell me you aren't just the slightest bit curious, people?)
Most Impressive Bullshitter (with two Petrellis in the running? I don't stand a chance...)
Muse You Most Want to See Tasered and Brutalized (Claude, I didn't know you cared...)

Honorable Mentions
"Is That a Banana in Your Pocket, Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?" Best Package (Oh, definitely vote for Noah on this one. *nods*)
Livejournal Freak on a Leash Award. (Not on a leash any more...)
Person You Most Wish Celibacy On (*tsk* That's hardly polite)
Couple You NEVER Want to See (with Adam -- Peter, don't be greedy; and with Arthur -- with which I wholeheartedly agree!)
Most Villainous Villain (I'm hardly a villain -- everything I've done has been for the greater good. Well... Hmn. Perhaps I do have a chance on the bullshitter one...)

And in case anyone has questions on the 'Mature Hottie' category:

For [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse - 247. Cleaning up a mess

247. Write about a mess you've cleaned up.

You'd think a fellow like Bennet, with a wife and a baby daughter, would be more careful, wouldn't you? That given the nature of our job and the need for secrecy, he'd keep certain tools of the trade locked up securely where darling Sandra can't find them...

And, failing that, you'd think he would avoid such things as blaming his sloppiness on said baby daughter, who we gave him to take care of. After all, if he can't keep the job secret from Sandra then how are we supposed to trust him? And if he can't handle taking care of little Claire, then perhaps we should take her away and give her to someone else to raise.

But of course, when I suggest these things to him, he pleads with me to give him another chance. How am I supposed to refuse him when he begs so nicely; when he turns those puppy eyes on me and I get yet another hint of how vulnerable he can be. Hmmn... One of these days...

For now, I have to clean up his mess. Which, fortunately, I can do with a minimum of muss and fuss. I should probably point out to my dear friend Noah how lucky he is. Just a year and a half ago, the only way to fix this would have been for dear Sandra to meet with an unfortunate accident. Now we have my lovely Haitian find to take away those unwanted memories. I should remind Noah that he should be grateful. Very grateful...

For [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse - 243 - Olympics

243. If you could be in the Olympics (summer or winter), what event/sport would you want to do most? Why?

I could be predictable and say shooting since it's a skill I use at work, but I've never liked being predictable. It often has unpleasant results, like permanent disabilities -- or death -- and I don't intend to repeat that lovely experience for a long, long time.

However, there are other skills I use at work; things I keep up with to keep myself fit -- and alive. Not to mention a bit of... sport, shall we say? From time to time. There's always judo or taekwondo, but I'd probably fare better in boxing. There's a lot of tradition there, with a number of military-trained boxers entering the Olympics. Of course, I'd be the old man on the team, but I can think of far worse things...

Yes, I'd probably go with boxing. A lot of the other skills I've honed over the years don't fit themselves neatly into an Olympic sport -- and more's the pity, considering some of the fine specimens of human fitness that populate the games. Hmmn. There's always party time at the Olympic village...

For [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse - 238 - Freudian Slip

238. Freudian Slip

ooc: companion piece to this

He turns me down, saying 'we' have other plans. At first, I think that he and Bennet have finally succumbed to their obvious attraction and are -- as he would say -- shagging each other senseless on the weekend.

Except that when I follow Bennet home (because Claude inexplicably stays in the small apartment we gave him for hours after his partner's gone), I find him taking Sandra and the kids out to a family restaurant and the opening of a new movie Claire obviously begged to see.

Even invisible, Claude wouldn't be sitting through that just to turn me down. He'd go with the family, fully visible and grumbling the whole way, cranky Uncle Claude complaining about the girly stuff as usual.

So. 'We' have other plans.

Who is 'we'?

I know for a fact that he isn't close enough to the other employees to be spending time with them. It's not me, and it's not Bennet.

That means he's found himself someone new.

If I were a suspicious person, I might think our Claude was sneaking around behind our backs, doing things he's not supposed to do. After all, it's not like he gets out to play the social scene all that often...

And if Claude's found someone to spend time with and hasn't introduced him to any of us...

Hmmn...

I do believe our Claude has gone native.

Guess it's time to turn in that report I've been holding. The home office isn't going to like this.

Sad, what a simple slip of the tongue can do...

For [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse - 235 - Show us where you live

Show us where you live

I assume there's something psychological you're actually looking for here. I suppose I could even give you a very interesting response that would give you hours of entertainment analyzing me. However, I'm really just not interested in doing that right now.

Ignoring, of course, the fact that by answering in this manner, I've already given you enough material to start a lovely case study. Believe me, I know how it works. I've been on the other side of this fence for years.

So. Show you where I live. It's a state-of-the-art medical facility housed in the headquarters of a company that shall remain nameless.

It's quite nice, as hospitals and medical facilities go; at least for the people who actually work here. The labs are very clean and have the most modern equipment money can buy. The fellow in charge has a... golden touch, you might say.

The guests have private rooms -- well, single-occupancy rooms would be more accurate, because any privacy we have is nothing but an illusion. Even those of us who do not have observation windows are monitored around the clock. That's just the way things go at the Company.

The rooms are clean, impersonal, and the beds are too damned small. Not that I'd be bringing anyone into mine without some way to shut off the monitors. Or at least the ones connected to the recording devices.

To be honest -- and I know there are those of you out there quite capable of reading between the lines -- the place could actually do with some renovations...

TM: 230 - Black & White

230. Black and White

So many people say they understand that the world isn't black and white -- they claim to prefer things in shades of grey -- and so few of them truly know what they're talking about. So few of them could handle the kinds of things I've had to do working for the Company; the things that have been necessary for the greater good.

Imagine, for example, you've been sent to hunt down a dangerous Special -- someone who has the ability to generate corrosive acid but not enough control to keep from accidentally killing, or at the very least severely injuring or maiming people. Would you take the job, to protect the innocent public?

Would you still take that job if you knew ahead of time that the dangerous Special was a ten-year-old girl?

That is what shades of grey are. That is what the world is really like.

I took that job, fully aware of what I had to do. There were innocents who needed to be protected; the danger needed to be neutralized, and we couldn't exactly lock her away in a facility with an ability like that.

There is no black; there is no white. There is only grey...

For [livejournal.com profile] makeyourlist - 19.2 - Things I hate doing

19.2. Make a list of things you hate doing

[locked from the Company -- there's a public list later for them]
1. Being poked and prodded by the medical staff
2. Having to pretend I like listening to Bob ramble on about the success of the project when I'm the main guinea pig
3. Biding my time before I get out of here and get my own life back
4. Living vicariously through what little news I get
5. Watching Bennet get to go out into the world
6. Watching Bennet come back like the good dog he is
7. Having head-splitting headaches
8. Wondering if each day is going to be the one where they decide I've outlived my usefulness and pack me away like they did with Maury.
[/locked]

1. Eating the 'carefully chosen for its nutritional value' diet the medical staff has me on. I really, really want a nice big steak dinner
2. Spending so much time in the medical wing instead of being able to live my own life.
3. Being celibate through no choice of my own
4. Waiting for Bob to finally decide it's time for me to get back to active status

For [livejournal.com profile] theatrical_muse - 226 - Three things I'm looking forward to

226. Name three things that you're looking forward to in the near future and why.

First and foremost, I'm looking forward to getting out of here. I'd really like for it to happen with a minimum of muss and fuss, but something tells me that's just not an option any more. I'm pretty sure that my value as a successful experiment outweighs my value as an employee -- I'm also pretty sure that as long as someone like Bob is in charge, my freedom as a whole will be... limited. I'm... displeased, shall we say, with my abrupt change in status, although I suppose lab rat and project is a step up from dead body.

Second, I'm looking forward to Bennet getting out of here. He'll deal with my problem quite handily, which will keep me from having to actually do anything about it myself. I may have to persuade him not to shoot me, too, but that's still preferable to the current situation.

[Locked] And third, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the younger of the fabulous flying Petrelli brothers. I'd like to... thank him properly for my newfound enlightenment when it comes to the plight of Specials. I'd like to do a whole hell of a lot more than that, too... I have a feeling it might be a highly... satisfying meeting all around. [/Locked]
