Four
The last thing he remembered, he had been about to shoot that damned telepathic cop -- god, the man had deserved it, too, whining on about his pregnant wife and how the hell had Maury spawned such an annoying kid, anyway? -- and Bennet had got the drop on him. Stupid rookie mistake, and he'd paid for it with his life.
It didn't really feel like four months later when they took him out of the freezer and tested the blood on him. It didn't feel like any time had passed at all. And yet, so many things had changed. Linderman was dead and his plan had failed, thanks to the sickeningly loyal brotherly love of the Petrellis. Of course, he was pretty damned sure that brotherly love went further than it should, but then again the whole family had issues...
He'd apparently been sent to the New York facility where Bob was in charge of certain research, and surprisingly enough, the good doctor Suresh was working there, too. And that was an interesting development, indeed. From working with Bennet to take the Company down, to shooting the man to save Bob's life. Fascinating! It must have been the man's darker side that had attracted Sylar in the first place, he realized. And here he'd thought the beautiful scientist was such a goodie-two-shoes.
But the thing that really irked him was that while he spent four months in the freezer, pretty Peter Petrelli was in a cell in the same facility, guilt-ridden and agonizing over what he'd done to his brother, and wanting to be 'cured' of his abilities. He'd missed the whole thing, although Elle had given him tantalizing hints...
Now, Bennet was working for them once again, a chained lap-dog who'd do anything to protect his family, and Peter was free again along with the Thing In the Basement, Adam Monroe. Nathan was cured, and had given up his Congressional seat (so much for all of that work), and was searching for his brother.
And he was a project. A goddamned project! They hadn't even let him out of his room without a watchdog. Granted, it had been Elle, and he'd never had any problems dealing with her. But four months ago he was highly placed in the Company, and sitting in this room wearing the standard-issue prisoner garb was galling. He certainly didn't intend to spend another four months in this situation.
